# How to improve your local search results on DuckDuckGo (desktop)

DuckDuckGo can serve local results (for searches like ["restaurants nearby"](/content/?q=restaurants+nearby&origin=funnel_help/index.html)) while still keeping you anonymous. [Read more about how it works](/content/duckduckgo-help-pages/privacy/anonymous-localized-results/index.html).

For some search results you can opt-in to anonymously and securely use your browser location, in accordance with our [Privacy Policy](/content/privacy/index.html). This will help further improve the accuracy and relevancy of search results.

## If you experience issues trying to use your location:
